While the Springfield area is home to many well-loved thrift stores, WILD Thrift & Sniff has already made an impression after launching this past June. The upscale thrift store operates for the purpose of supporting WILD Canine Rescue, a women-run, Springfield-based nonprofit dedicated to preventing unnecessary euthanization of dogs. Funds generated by the store for this organization support rescue and re-homing operations for dogs in need around central Illinois and beyond.
In addition to 9,000 square feet of space devoted to the retail store, there is space in the back for a groomer and dog training area. While dogs aren't kept on site, it is used to host meet-and-greets for potential adopters.
Not only does WILD Thrift & Sniff support a good cause, it is also an organized thrifter's dream.
