GUITARIST AND HORN PLAYER

Dave Littrell

We always have healthy competition in our music categories as it reflects our robust local scene, but there's one guy who continually stands out head and shoulders above the rest. That's Dave Littrell, our best of the best on guitar and horn for 2025.

We can attribute some of Dave's popularity to his longevity on the scene, going on a couple decades-plus run from the early days of touring with his progressive rock jam band, The Station, on to the Dave Littrell Band, The Deep Hollow (with Elizabeth Eckert and Micah Walk) and into his current tribute groups Birds of a Feather (Phish) and Blue Sky Revival (Allman Brothers), plus his work with show group The Shenanigans.

He's also a dedicated family man with a wife and two children plus he holds down a state job, and yet, Dave stays plenty busy playing music. His horn work is on the saxophone, which he picked up during his school days in Chatham and the guitar has just always been there and always will be.

Along with the aforementioned bands (they all come out to play now and again) our esteemed winner also does a bunch of solo shows where he sings, plays guitar and adds the sax on top of loops just to bring it all home. Lately he's expanded into DJ and live music territory at weddings, so look for him in that category too, soon enough. Thanks, Dave, for all the great music. And by the way, you're the best!
