A Company of Women - Ursuline Sisters in Springfield, Illinois

Janice Stukenberg Petterchak, author of A Company of Women: The Ursuline Sisters in Springfield, Illinois, will launch Preservation Inc.’s monthly Brown Bag Lunch Series with a review of her book and the history of Springfield’s Ursuline Sisters. The book traces the Ursulines from their arrival in Springfield in the 1800s and the founding of one of Illinois’ earliest academies for young women through generations of education, faith and service. Petterchak will share stories from her research and reflect on the sisters’ lasting influence on Springfield. Books will be available for purchase, and Petterchak will autograph copies following the program.
