An Evening with Thomas Jefferson

Enjoy a spirited and informative evening with the third president of the United States, Thomas Jefferson. Historian and interpreter Kurt Smith from Colonial Williamsburg will portray Jefferson, recounting his life as a revolutionary, founding father, diplomat, and eventual president. Most importantly, he’ll talk about the promise of westward expansion to the Illinois Territory and beyond as well as share Jefferson’s thoughts on the future of our young nation still struggling through growing pains in a quest to see if this nation can endure.
