Black Leaders History Hike

When: Sat., Feb. 28, 1 p.m. 2026

Led by the Department of Natural Resources. Presented by Black Lives Matter SPI.

This one-hour hike through Oak Ridge Cemetery focuses on the history of Springfield’s Black community, discussing stories of success and persistence in the face of severe adversity and prejudice. After the hike, enjoy hot chocolate in the tomb caretaker's residence.

Please note this hike will cover uneven/unpaved ground. Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
