Based on true events surrounding 9-11, it tells the story of the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, whose residents unexpectedly welcomed the world on Sept. 11, 2001. When 38 planes were diverted to their town, the people of Gander opened their homes, shared meals, offered music and laughter, and forged lasting connections with 7,000 stranded travelers.
