Displaced
Several hundred "displaced persons," or "DPs," from WWII were sponsored by churches and individuals to be resettled in Springfield under the U.S. Displaced Persons Act of 1948. This is their story, as told by former child refugees from Lithuania. Followed by a brief Q-and-A. Co-sponsored by the Lithuanian-American Club of Central Illinois.
