This program will focus on some of the lesser-known historic love stories that took place in Springfield in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Hear excerpts from historic love letters, read lines from love poems written by Springfield poets, find out which couples lived “happily ever after” and which stories ended in tragedy. Learn what evidence historians use to discover and understand love stories of the past. Part of Springfield's 2022 History Comes Alive programming.
