Introduction to Beekeeping

Register by Feb. 2 to explore the fascinating world of honey bees and beekeeping in this six-part series designed for anyone interested in beekeeping or honey bees. Experienced beekeepers will cover topics including: Life of the bee,Common pests/diseases, Bee equipment/assembly, New package installation, Inspecting the hive and Caring for the colony. The series will be offered in person and via zoom on Thursdays from Feb. 12 to March 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. Register online at the Illinois Extension website. The $45 fee includes a copy of the First Lessons in Beekeeping book for supplementary learning.
