Introduction to Hand Drumming Workshop
Percussionist Dennis Maberry will introduce participants to basic techniques and rhythm concepts for hand drumming. These techniques and concepts include basic hand technique, finding and maintaining the pulse, off beats, and the basic concepts of polyrhythm. Since many of the people in the central Illinois area are involved in community drum circles a section of the class will be on how to integrate these concepts into drum circles. No drum - no problem. Extra drums will be available.
