Japanese New Year Holiday Fest

When: Sat., Dec. 2, 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. 2023

Ring in the year of the Dragon. Celebrate the Japanese New Year by writing a nengajo, or New Year's postcard, that the museum will mail at the end of December. Visitors can craft dragon puppets and decorate spinning tops to take home. Activities are free and available while supplies last. From Dec. 1 to Dec. 18, visitors can donate a non-perishable food or household item to the ISM Central Illinois Food Bank drive for a discount in the museum’s gift shop.
