Musical Diplomacy: Three Case Studies – Afghanistan, China, and Austria

The World Affairs Council Central Illinois will present Jacobsen Woollen, associate conductor of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, conductor of the Illinois Symphony Youth Orchestra, music director of the Springfield Choral Society, and music director of the University of Illinois – Springfield Orchestra.
Woolen has studied extensively in Vienna, Austria, and will discuss music as a form of cultural diplomacy. He will share examples from three very different countries – Afghanistan, China and Austria.
