Native Plant Seed Sowing Workshop

Create wildlife habitat at home by winter sowing native perennials for your garden. Alana McKean, curator at Starhill Forest Arboretum, will explain the process of winter sowing and caring for new seedlings and will answer your native plant gardening questions. Bring your own clean, transparent milk jug to turn into a mini-greenhouse with assistance from Illinois Native Plant Society and Springfield Audubon Society volunteers. Potting soil and a variety of native seeds will be provided. If you have native seeds to share, bring them along!
