Nature Walks

Dickson Mounds is a renowedn archaeological museum, but it also has walking trails that allow visitors to experience the natural beauty of Illinois prairies and forest. Join state museum naturalists and educators on a guided walk and learn about native wildlife and how people live alongside them. Walks will last about 40 minutes, with opportunities for three sessions. Visitors will also learn the basics of nature journaling and get practice in recording their observations. This event is presented by the Illinois State Museum Society and is a part of its National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Program.
