"Northern Bobwhite and Ring-necked Pheasants: Their Life History and Conservation Needs"
When: Thu., March 19, 6 p.m. 2026
Emilee Hale, Illinois farm bill biologist, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever, will lead this presentation. Both northern bobwhite and ring-necked pheasants are facing rapid population decline due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the introduction of invasive grass and forb species and reduced use of prescribed fire. This presentation aims to not only bring awareness to these population declines, but to showcase the habitat management practices that are essential to conserving these birds for future generations.
