POSTPONED - 1619: The Journey of a People

UPDATE:

Performance's of the musical have been postponed because of multiple power outages in the city, significant local storm damage, and the chance for more severe weather over the weekend. The Springfield and Central Illinois African American History Museum, the Hoogland Center for the Arts and the producer are currently looking for alternative dates. If you have already purchased tickets, the box office will contact you about exchanges or refunds. New dates will be posted soon.

Modern characters lead the audience on a journey about the progress of America’s African sons and daughters. Singers, actors, dancers and spoken word artists reflect on the past while tackling critical contemporary social issues.
