Jose Gobbo Trio Salutes Charlie Parker

The Art of Jazz

This month, the Jose Gobbo Trio will salute Charlie Parker who is best known for his musical talents as a jazz saxophone player. Parker's unique sound led to the development of bebop which reached a height of popularity in 1940-1955. It was a radical departure from swing. Because it was not as concerned with commercial appeal, bebop was considered "musicians" music. In addition to great music, take time to view "Luminescence," opening Nov. 8-9. Michael Houser is guest artist and emerging artist. Chris Barrett exhibits as well.
