In collaboration with the Lincoln Home National Historic Site, Springfield Choral Society will illuminate the legacy of Julius Rosenwald, an often-overlooked Springfield-born philanthropist whose generosity transformed educational opportunities for Black children across the South and Midwest. Noted Rosenwald historian Dorothy Canter will explore his Springfield family, life, and far-reaching support of Black education, historically Black colleges and universities, and Jewish charitable organizations. The interactive presentation will include the Rosenwald family home, which still stands on Eighth Street within the Lincoln Home National Historic Site. Programs will be offered Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. Limited seating available.
