UIS Orchestra Festival Concert - UIS Music

Event brings together seven different ensembles and more than 300 UIS and community musicians. The UIS Orchestra Festival Concert will feature the UIS Orchestra in a performance of Rimsky-Korsakov’s Sheherazade, based on the famous story One Thousand and One Nights (Arabian Nights), a collection of folktales compiled in Arabic. Soloing with the orchestra will be the winners of the junior and senior divisions of the UIS Music Solo competition: Analiese Reeves, flute; Jeremy Gao, violin; Jayden Li, piano. The concert traces the journey of music education by featuring the youngest musicians of the UIS String Academy and ISYO Starter Strings, followed by the musicians of the ISYO Youth Orchestras and culminating with the UIS Orchestra.
