Women's History walking tour

Illinois Department of Natural Resources Uploaded by Historic Sites Staff
Building A Better World. Follow the path of suffragists as we reflect on the stories of Illinois women who paved the way for a better future. This one hour, 1.5 mile walking tour begins in the courtyard of the Dana-Thomas House, built as a platform from which to pursue equal rights; and concludes at the Illinois State Capitol, where Illinois became the first state east of the Mississippi to guarantee presidential suffrage for women. Please note, this tour includes only site exteriors; site interiors will not be toured. Reservations are required.
